The certification examination is the last step in qualifying for the DBIA designation. The examination is conducted several times a year, in conjunction with our DBIA Regions. This exam is also proctored at the DBIA annual and specialty conferences.
The purpose of the exam is to measure the knowledge and comprehension mastery level of information pertaining to integrated design and construction as well as the application of that information.
Successful completion of the exam completes the capstone requirements of the Designated Design-Build Professional™ program.
This certification exam consists of 100 questions and is a multiple choice/grid. It will cover 8 domains. Those domains are:
- Project Delivery
- General Attributes of Design-Build
- Project Team Organization
- Procurement
- Estimating/Specifying
- Contracts and Legal
- Project Management
- Ethics/Professionalism
Candidates are allocated a maximum of 2 hours to take the exam and are welcome to wear a watch to help monitor themselves if they so desire.
