Benefits - Individuals

Conferences

Meet industry leaders, attend education courses, view award-winning design-build projects, hear design-build case studies and testimonies, network with owners and visit our expo hall at each of DBIA’s four conferences where members received discounted registration rates.
• Design-Build Conference and Expo
• Design-Build Transportation Conference
• Design-Build Water/Wastewater Conference
• Federal Sector Conference
DBIA conferences and events are attended by multi-disciplinary practitioners. DBIA also enjoys the highest percentage of owners/users (regularly 15-25%) at its meetings and courses. A regular feature of DBIA conferences are special "Owners Forums" conducted as owner-only meetings where attendees have the opportunity to meet and address design-build initiatives, challenges and opportunities. This unique forum provides the only opportunity of its kind in the design-build world.

Education

Aimed at both owners and practitioners, DBIA coursework and education sessions cover all aspects of design-build, from basic principles to post-award contract administration.  DBIA nationwide educational programs are developed to teach practical "how to" concepts about design-build and to advance the education, public awareness, understanding and utility of design-build.

Courses and programs developed and delivered by DBIA use interactive learning strategies to teach topics ranging from an introduction of design-build techniques to advanced application of design-build concepts. All are designed to impart practical learning which can be used in the office and on the job.  Members receive discounted pricing.

Professional Education

The Designated Design-Build Professional™ credential has become a respected indicator of an individual’s commitment to their knowledge and expertise in their field. It’s often preferred, if not required, for some positions and for project team leaders. DBIA’s core courses are required to earn this credential and the elective courses will help maintain it. While membership in DBIA is not required to be a Designated Design-Build Professional, members receive discounts on the courses and conferences needed to earn this credential. And even those who are not working on earning this certification find DBIA’s courses to be an important part of their personal and professional development.

DBIA Publications

Members receive the quarterly journal, Integration Quarterly, which outlines trends and changes in the industry while also highlighting successful design-build projects.  As well, members receive the weekly e-newsletter, Design-Build Insight, which highlights design-build-related news and business opportunities.  Members also receive a discount when they purchase any publication from DBIA, including design-build contract documents, which are only available from DBIA's online bookstore.
