DBIA Milestone: Webinar Series

Over the past 20 years, DBIA has been proud to adapt to the evolving online needs of our members. This ranges from creating a website when the internet had just become mainstream to launching a host of online education courses to growing a robust social media presence. Having partnered with others for numerous webinars over the years, DBIA concluded in early 2013 that having our own webinar series would have various benefits for not only our members, but the entire design-build industry.

The overarching theme of DBIA’s debut webinar series was “Design-Build Done Right.” Our goal was to spread design-build best practices to as many industry professionals as possible so that design-build was not just growing as a preferred delivery method, but was being executed properly too.

First, we developed content for tailored webinars that would introduce industry professionals to design-build concepts if they didn’t have much experience with them. Then we added sessions with expert speakers on complex or emerging topics. By having a diverse range of subjects, professionals with all levels of experience would be invited to learn about design-build best practices.

The webinars also count towards continuing education units (CEUs) for DBIATM and Assoc. DBIATM certified professionals and can be applied to other designations such as AIA. This simultaneously provides needed credit to industry professionals while also furthering their knowledge of design-build project delivery.

Design-build is about collaboration and communication and our webinars reflect that principle. Participants are able to interact with webinar instructors by asking them questions through a live instant messaging system. This allows participants to get added value by ensuring that the questions they had when they signed up for the webinar will be answered.

All of our webinars are archived and available for download after they’re complete. To review a list of past webinars and to purchase access to any that interest you, please visit the Continuing Education section of our website.
