David Burton, DBIA

David Burton
As Vice President – Criminal Justice, David Burton heads operations for the Moss organization's national justice practice, managing all aspects of active projects and working to develop winning strategies for future projects.

With more than 30 years in the industry, Mr. Burton worked his way up the ranks, from estimator to project engineer, assistant superintendent, project manager, director and vice president of operations. He has been involved in justice most of his career, including construction of more than 24,000 correctional beds in 19 facilities and 10 federal courthouse/office complexes from Hawaii to New York to the Caribbean. He has worked with private and public clients, on design-build, general construction, construction management and other delivery methods.
Mr. Burton has been an active member in many construction industry organizations. He is currently the 2015 Chair of the Design-Build Institute of America's National Design-Build Certification Board of Directors. He is a certified DBIA instructor and Designated Design-Build Professional™. Mr. Burton also enjoys raising money for college scholarships as a part of the San Antonio Livestock Show and Rodeo Calf Scramble Committee.
Mr. Burton received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology – Construction Specialization from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas. He has held a contractor's license in California, Nevada and Mississippi.
