H. Thomas McDuffie, Jr., AIA, RIBA

Tom McDuffieTom McDuffie is Group Vice President for Jacobs Global Buildings, a 2,500-person organization providing AE Design, PM/CM, EPCM and consulting services with offices in 23 U.S. states and 100 field sites. He is responsible for operations serving public and private sector markets in government, health and research, mission critical, science and technology, K-12, education, retail and distribution, corporate/ commercial and transit orientated facilities. Services include program/ planning, master planning, architecture, interiors, engineering, consulting, program/ construction management and design-build services.

From 2001-2005, Mr. McDuffie served as Vice President and Director of Operations for Jacobs Southern Europe, based in Paris, France. Prior to joining Jacobs in 1992, Mr. McDuffie was President of Clark Tribble Harris and Li Architects. He was Director and Vice President of THL, Inc., the firm’s London-based holding company. During his tenure, Mr. McDuffie received national recognition for the design of mixed-use and corporate office buildings, education, government, recreation, housing and the design of over 50 million square feet of investment office projects.

His feature articles appeared in the National Real Estate Investor, Real Estate Forum, Southeast Real Estate News, Washington Business Journal, the Washington Real Estate News and AIA Journal. He is a registered architect and a member of the American Institute of Architects, The Royal Institute of British Architects and the Urban Land Institute. Mr. McDuffie’s awards include the “Subby Award” for the most outstanding professional services firm in Washington, D.C., The National Association of Office Properties best Build to Suit and Best Renovation projects and numerous American Institute of Architects design awards.
