Nominations for DBIA Board of Directors Now Being Accepted

2019 DBIA National Board of Directors Nominations Open

Nominations due March 2, 2018

Do you know a design-build leader who can help our industry continue to grow and innovate? The Design-Build Institute of America invites you to nominate a DBIA member in good standing to serve on our 2018 National Board of Directors. We are seeking candidates who understand and support DBIA’s mission and goals and who are committed to advancing the understanding and use of design-build project delivery across all sectors and markets. 

In filling board vacancies, DBIA strives to represent diverse segments of the industry, diverse geographic regions, as well as to ensure gender and racial diversity.  Such broad diversity will help ensure a cross section of unique skills, wide-ranging expertise, and the varied perspectives needed to help DBIA achieve its strategic goals.


Please review the nominations timeline and guidelines before submitting the online form. Only DBIA members in good standing are eligible to serve on the DBIA National Board of Directors.

Nomination Application Details: 

Nominators/Applicants will be asked to provide the following information in the online application: 

  • Nominee Contact Information
  • Nominee Bio (300 words or less for use on the DBIA website, if selected)
  • At least one industry reference who’ll provide a testimonial to support the nominee
  • Photo of nominee (high resolution JPEG file for use on DBIA website if selected)
  • Full resume/curriculum vitae
  • Confirmation of DBIA membership status and type
  • Ability to commit to up to four face-to-face meetings per year
  • Confirmation of the individual or the individual's firm's willingness to cover travel costs (with the exception of public owners who will be reimbursed by DBIA for travel expenditures associated with attendance at meetings)
  • In 300 words or less, a description of the nominee’s service to DBIA over the past five (5) years. Evidence of such can be through involvement on committees at the Region and/or National levels, sponsorships, attendance at events, etc.
  • In 500 words or less, a description of the value the nominee and/or his/her organization can bring DBIA in helping to achieve our strategic goals​ 

​Nominations Timeline: 

  • March 2nd: Nominations due.
  • Through April 20:  Phone interviews with nominees and references, as needed, by the Board Development Committee.
  • Through June 8th:  Nominations Committee conducts additional due diligence, as necessary to narrow the pool.
  • July 18th:  Board of Directors vote on slate of nominees.
  • August 1st:  Nominees notified of status.
  • November 7th: New Board members installed at DBIA Membership Luncheon in New Orleans (held in conjunction with the Design-Build Conference & Expo).

 

Completed online nomination forms must be submitted by the March 2nd deadline.
