Greg Gidez

Greg GidezGreg Gidez was born in Huntington, Long Island, New York in 1956.  He received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Rutgers University in 1978 and a Masters of Architecture from the University of Colorado in 1982. At the University of Colorado his focus was in the Energy in Architecture program.

Mr. Gidez was with the firm of Fentress Bradburn Architects for 26 years prior to joining Hensel Phelps Construction as Corporate Manager of Pre-Construction Services in October of 2007.  He is a licensed architect, and is licensed in Colorado, Texas, Missouri, Florida and California and is NCARB certified.  As  a Principal and Senior Project Manager, he was responsible for the design of over $1.2 billion of constructed projects, totaling over 7 million square feet. This includes many varied building types including airports, sports facilities, government centers, office buildings, multi-family residential, retail and hospitality, courthouses and laboratories.  Mr. Gidez is exceptionally experienced a managing large team’s of diverse consultants, and working with multi-tenant clients, often with competing needs. 

Over $800 million of the projects were delivered utilizing design-build, where Mr. Gidez is considered an expert.  His sensitivity to the need of teamwork, collaboration and constructive cooperation, and his commitment to technical excellence and the highest levels of performance in design and architectural production have resulted in many award-winning projects.

Mr. Gidez is the President of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) where he is active in promoting collaboration and integrated delivery within the design and construction communities.  He is a national speaker on the integrated design build delivery process.  Mr. Gidez was named a Special Advisor to the Washington DC based DBIA Board of Directors in 2007 and is active in the organization on a national basis. Mr. Gidez is an active member of the Denver Chapter of the AIA.

As committed as Mr. Gidez is to architectural excellence, he is equally committed to building sustainable, energy efficient and healthy buildings, as a proven professional by his LEED™ Accreditation.  He has championed these concepts in all of his projects, with many of these projects recognized for their energy efficiency and exceptional indoor environments.  Over a half dozen of Mr. Gidez’ projects have received recognition for their leading edge sustainable design characteristics, including Silver and Gold and Platinum LEED awards.  Mr. Gidez is a national speaker on sustainable building design and integration of green building technologies into the built environment. 

Mr. Gidez has lived in Colorado since 1979 where he enjoys an active outdoor life including skiing, whitewater rafting, hiking, camping and fishing.
