Bill has served in executive leadership positions in design, development and management consulting organizations at both the national and international level. He is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Marshall Erdman & Associates. With headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin, the integrated healthcare facilities solutions company has offices in Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Seattle, and Washington, DC. Founded in 1952, Marshall Erdman provides planning, design, construction, capital and development services to healthcare clients throughout the United States.
Bill began his professional career with 3D/International, an international design and program management firm headquartered in Houston, Texas. He next served as Senior Vice President in charge of Business Development for Caudill Rowlett Scott (CRS) during one of the company’s most dramatic growth periods. Bill also held the position of President and Chief Development Officer for Pierce Goodwin Alexander & Linville (PGAL), during the firm’s emergence as a nationally prominent architecture/engineering firm. In the early nineties, Bill was the Founding Principal and President of Advanced Strategies Group (ASG), a management consulting firm that assisted organizations with the development of creative business strategies. Bill’s specialized expertise in strategic planning, market research and business development lead to nationally prominent engagements for the innovative consulting firm.
Prior to joining Marshall Erdman, Bill served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for MetroNational, a closely-held investment, development and management company with a highly diversified portfolio of real estate investments. In addition to his executive operations role, Bill was responsible for the company’s new ventures, including the $700 million redevelopment of Memorial City, one of Houston’s premier urban centers.
A frequent author and speaker, Bill has addressed audiences nationwide, including the American Institute of Architects, Associated General Contractors, International Facility Management Association, Society for Marketing Professional Services and the Urban Land Institute.
On a personal note, Bill and his wife, Terry Owens, own BiTerra Quarter Horses, a western performance horse breeding and training business based in Weimar, Texas. They are both active amateur competitors in the sport of reining. Bill currently serves on the Executive Board of the National Reining Horse Association and is the President of the Reining Horse Sports Foundation.
