John S. Young, Jr., is President of American Water Works Service Company, Inc., and American Water Services. In this role, he is responsible for the business and operation functional support for the American Water utility subsidiaries. He is also responsible for a business transformation program to improve process and efficiency, enhance customer service and replace antiquated IT systems across the business. Additionally, he is responsible for facilitating and managing growth opportunities within American Water. John is an active member of several professional organizations, including being a Board Member of the Design/Build Institute of America and the American Water Works Association. John is a registered professional engineer in a number of states. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Duke University, and an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of North Carolina
