About the Project:
Fairfax County Parkway Phases I/II/IV was a great success for its many federal, state and local stakeholders. The design-build team managed complex issues such as contaminated soils and groundwater and unexploded ordnance. Phases I and II opened to traffic two months ahead of schedule and Phase IV opened one month early. The project had been highly publicized as critical to the success of the region’s BRAC initiative and included two visits by President Obama.
