About the Project:
The Seattle Public Utilities’ South Transfer Station is a design-build, $47 million, 98,000-square-foot facility that sets a new standard for customer service, efficiency and flexibility within the City’s solid waste system. Unique features of the transfer station include a drive-through tunnel that allows for faster and safer load drop-off, as well as a complete separation between commercial and self-haul traffic to increase efficiency and decrease wait times. The facility is expected to achieve LEED Gold certification.
