California Health Care Facility Stockton

CHCF Stockton

Healthcare Facilities, National Award of Excellence, National Award of Merit

Stockton, Calif.

The California Health Care Facility at Stockton provides health and medical services for aging and chronically ill inmates requiring both immediate and long-term care. The project was federally mandated and came with an aggressive timeline. It represents a massive project that consists of 37 buildings, 1,818 inmate/patient beds, a kitchen serving 10,000 meals each day and numerous support facilities. Not only was the project completed 10 weeks early, but the flexibility of design-build allowed the two joint venture teams to provide additional value, confirming the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s positive decision to make this its first design-build project.
