Awards

DBIA is committed to celebrating people and projects that raise the bar and demonstrate what Design-Build Done Right can achieve.

Awards are given annually, and we encourage you to submit a project – or an individual – for recognition. Project owners and/or team members need not be members of DBIA to be considered, nor is membership a requirement for Leadership Award nominees.

The 2017 National Award of Merit Project/Team Awards have been announced.

Project/Team Awards -
2017 Design-Build Project Team Awards
DBIA recognizes exemplary application of Design-Build Done Right project delivery that, at a minimum, resulted in highly successful projects that achieved best value while meeting design and construction quality, cost and schedule goals. In 2014, the awards program and scoring criteria were revamped, with a greater emphasis on the team as well as the project. As a result, the project award levels were revised and renamed to reflect these changes.

Brunelleschi and Leadership Awards -
The Brunelleschi Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honor DBIA bestows. It is presented to an individual who has made significant contributions to the design and construction industry through outstanding leadership and the advancement of integrated design-build project delivery.

The DBIA Distinguished Design-Build Leadership Awards are presented to individuals who have demonstrated leadership in the advancement of effective design-build practices and in the promotion of design-build as a project delivery method of choice.

Industry veteran and design-build champion Peter W. Tunnicliffe, P.E., BCEE, DBIA, CIRM, 2016 Brunelleschi Lifetime Achievement Award Winner
