Owners Forum
Wednesday, October 19, 2011
10:00am - 12:00pm
The challenge before DBIA is to determine the most appropriate, effective and timely strategies to address the needs, facilitate the opportunities and minimize the obstacles faced by owners as they seek to understand and utilize the project delivery method most appropriate to their needs. At this forum you will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with other owners experienced in all methods of project delivery. You and your peers will share your views, answer questions and discuss how DBIA can further support owner needs—without any pressure from those selling products and services.
Owners wishing to attend only the Forum may do so at no charge. However, registration is still required. For those wishing to attend the entire conference, limited complimentary registrations are available through our Owner Education Scholarship, or you may register at a substantially discounted rate.
Owner Education Scholarship
DBIA is pleased to announce that we are accepting applications for our “Owner Education & Travel Fund” which provides complimentary registration and travel assistance to the 2011 Design-Build Conference & Expo.
The goal of these Funds is to advance the awareness, understanding and use of design-build among as many owners/government agencies as possible. Therefore, DBIA can not award scholarships to multiple individuals from the same agency unless funds are still available after all interested agency applications are reviewed.
Description of Funds:
- Owner Education Fund: Covers complimentary registration to the 2011 Design-Build Conference & Expo
- Owner Travel Fund: Used to offset all or a portion of an individual’s travel costs. Recipients may apply to have coach airfare and lodging for up to three nights covered.
The amount awarded is based on the number of applications received and fund availability. Applicants may apply for consideration multiple funds. However, DBIA cannot guarantee that all requests will be awarded.
Deadline & Applications: AUGUST 29
Notifications: Applicants will be notified by early September 2, 2011 regarding their scholarship status.
Eligibility: Any public owner of construction projects is eligible, as long as they are considering, or interested in considering, the use of design-build as a project delivery method, or have utilized this project delivery method in the past. Applicants need not be members of DBIA to qualify. “Owner’s Representatives” are only eligible if the application includes a signed statement from the owner attesting that the “owner’s representative” is attending on behalf of the organization.
Questions: If you have questions regarding the Owner Education, please contact Mihisha Henderson at mhenderson@dbia.org.
