Design-Build in Transportation Conference!

Design-build continues to increase its market share in the transportation sectors. One reﬂection of this expansion: Attendance at DBIA’s 2011 Design-Build in Transportation conference increased 30% over 2010. In August, a White House Memorandum commended the Federal Highway Administration noting, “On the construction side, the agency is encouraging State use of acceleration techniques like design-build.” More recently, Governor Cuomo of New York State announced bipartisan support for design-build legislation that is considered key to the state’s proposed infrastructure fund—an amazing development considering New York’s historic commitment to design-bid-build. Combine these developments with the continued emergence of P3s and one thing is clear: Design-Build remains in a growth position!
