Thank you for attending – See you in Charlotte!

Thank you to the nearly 1,000 industry professional who flocked to San Antonio, Texas, for DBIA’s Design-Build in Transportation Conference. This record-breaking number of attendees made this year’s conference bigger and better than ever.
The conference kicked off with an opening keynote from Denise Nelson of the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure. She addressed the importance of achieving sustainability goals for infrastructure projects and the tools available to accomplish that important task. Design-build projects are often more likely to achieve sustainability goals because the collaborative environment encourages teams to identify green opportunities early. DBIA Integration Quarterly covered this issue in an article last year.
Our Closing General Session speaker, Scott Humrickhouse from FMI, gave a compelling talk on current trends and the future of our industry, including the growing use of P3s, which Skanska’s Karl Reichelt discussed in the last session of the conference.
In addition to these featured speakers, this year’s conference included more than 20 educational programs and networking events – all geared toward how to save time, control costs and increase the quality of our nation’s transportation projects though Design-Build Done Right™. Best Practices were a constant theme throughout the conference, with several sessions highlighting the Transportation Committee’s work on a transportation sector specific guide released just in time for the conference. This guide is still in draft form and comments can be directed to
We hope to see you next year when we head to Charlotte, North Carolina – home of DBIA’s 2015 Owner of the Year, NCDOT – April 18-20, 2016.
