Owners Forum
|
"The DBIA Transportation Conference is a wonderful opportunity to bring owners around the country together to share with each other and learn from each other. The Conference is a perfect forum to connect with owners and practitioners. Each year I take back information from the conference that enhances our design-build program." Lisa B. Choplin Maryland State Highway Administration 2009 Conference Co-Chair |
The challenge before DBIA is to determine the most appropriate, effective and timely strategies to address the needs, facilitate the opportunities and minimize the obstacles faced by owners as they seek to understand and utilize the project delivery method most appropriate to their needs. At this forum you will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with other owners experienced in all methods of project delivery. You and your peers will share your views, answer questions and discuss how DBIA can further support owner needs—without any pressure from those selling products and services. DBIA is looking for the most appropriate effective and timely strategies to address the needs, facilitate the opportunities and minimize the obstacles faced by owners as they seek to understand and utilize the project delivery method most appropriate to their needs.
Owners wishing to attend only the Forum may do so at no charge. However, registration is still required. For those wishing to attend the entire conference, limited complimentary registrations are available through a newly created Owner Education Fund, or you may register at a substantially discounted rate.

“As an owner interested in utilizing design-build, I found the DBIA Transportation Conference to be an excellent use of both my time and limited travel resources. Each year the conference proves to be a valuable resource.”
Ray Tritt California Department of Transportation 2009 Conference Attendee |
The goal of these Funds is to advance the awareness, understanding and use of design-build as a project delivery method by owners. The complimentary registration and travel assistance provides an opportunity for owners to network with other owners, and to share their experiences with various project delivery methods.
Maximum Award Amount:
• The Owner Education Fund scholarship covers complimentary registration (a $500 value) to the 2010 Transportation Conference
• The Owner Travel Fund is used to offset all or a portion of an individual’s travel costs. Recipients are eligible to have coach airfare and lodging for up to three nights covered. The amount awarded is based on the number of applications received and fund availability.
Applicants may apply for consideration under both or only one of these funds. DBIA cannot guarantee that those who apply for both the “Owner Education Fund” and the “Owner Travel Fund” will be awarded monies from both.
