Owners' Forum*

DBIA’s Owners’ Forums are touted as the most valuable session at our conferences. This “Owners Only” session allows for open, honest discussion and provides professionals the opportunity to share views, answer questions and discuss how DBIA can further support your needs—without any pressure from those selling products and services. | WHAT IS AN OWNER? Owners (as defined by DBIA) are the individuals who work for organizations that control the design and construction processes. They are defined as representatives of a government agency, academic institution, non-profit organization, private facility owner, etc. Owners decide what gets built, when it gets built and how it gets built. |
Owner Education Scholarship
DBIA's “Owner Education & Travel Fund” provides complimentary registration and travel assistance to the 2012 Design-Build for Water/Wastewater.
The goal of these Funds is to advance the awareness, understanding and use of design-build among as many owners/government agencies as possible. Therefore, DBIA can not award scholarships to multiple individuals from the same agency unless funds are still available after all interested agency applications are reviewed.
Description of Funds:
- Owner Education Fund: Covers complimentary registration to the 2012 Design-Build for Water/Wasteater Conference
- Owner Travel Fund: Used to offset all or a portion of an individual’s travel costs. Recipients may apply to have coach airfare and lodging for up to three nights covered.
The amount awarded is based on the number of applications received and fund availability. Applicants may apply for consideration multiple funds. However, DBIA cannot guarantee that all requests will be awarded.

Notifications: Applicants will be notified by early March 2012 regarding their scholarship status.
Eligibility: Any public owner of construction projects is eligible, as long as they are considering, or interested in considering, the use of design-build as a project delivery method, or have utilized this project delivery method in the past. Applicants need not be members of DBIA to qualify. “Owner’s Representatives” are only eligible if the application includes a signed statement from the owner attesting that the “owner’s representative” is attending on behalf of the organization.
