The Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA) is a not-for-profit organization composed of owners, architectural/engineering/construction firms, academics and industry experts dedicated to improving the professional standards of the design and construction industry. The purpose of the Institute is to promote and encourage the growth of the design-build delivery process as a high quality project delivery system.
DBIA educational programs are developed to teach practical "how to" courses about design-build and to advance the education, public awareness, understanding and utility of design-build. Courses and programs developed and delivered by DBIA utilize interactive learning strategies to teach topics ranging from an introduction of design-build techniques to advanced application of design-build concepts. All are designed to impart practical learning which can be utilized in the office and on the job.
Who Should Attend DBIA Courses?
Because design-build is an integrated project delivery method, attendees of DBIA courses span a large spectrum, including government agency employees, owners of buildings, civil infrastructure and process plant facilities, architects, engineers and constructors. In addition, other individuals with interest or experience in integrated services also find DBIA courses to be valuable opportunities for additional education and networking, including teaching/research academics specializing in architecture, engineering and construction and students pursuing degrees in architecture, engineering and construction.
Continuing Education
DBIA's courses are approved for AIA continuing education credit. Credits earned at DBIA conferences qualify for elective credits or continuing education credit needed for the Designated Design-Build Professional™ or Associate DBIA™ credential.
