Bill Godwin is a Partner and Senior Project Manager with BACAR Constructors, Inc. located in Nashville, Tennessee. Bill was first exposed to the design-build method of project delivery as a student in Auburn University’s Cooperative Education program.
A 1983 graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Building Science, Bill has been with BACAR since 1986. BACAR Constructors has actively used design-build in the construction of industrial, commercial, recreational and health care projects for their clients throughout the Southeast and Midwest.
Bill serves as the primary company contact on prospective design-build projects. He is involved with all aspects of the project from initial site evaluations, infrastructure assessment, review of applicable codes, ordinances and regulations with local governments; preconstruction including value engineering, systems evaluation, constructability reviews, master planning, facility planning, critical path scheduling and project management. His current responsibilities include involvement with the daily management of the company including monthly review of financial reports, client development, contract negotiations and strategic planning.
A member of 2003 class of Designated Design-Build Professionals, Bill serves as a Senior Instructor for DBIA teaching Fundamentals of Project Delivery, Principles of Design-Build Project Delivery and Performance Requirements to owners, architects, contractors and engineers. He is a member of DBIA’s National Education Committee and is also active with Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors.
