Mark Deaton is a Project Director with HNTB Architecture, part of a multidisciplinary architecture, engineering and planning firm. HNTB Architecture specializes in federal, civil, sports, aviation and significant Design Build projects across the United States. Mark leads a $500 million dollar federal project team of 40 design professionals who are focused on providing Design Build best practices as a part of a multi-disciplinary developer led design/build team.
While at a previous firm, Mark provided on-site training and hands on Design Build project application with several state and federal agencies. Mark served as the on-site Design Build representative for the Oregon Military Department on projects including an Armed Forces Reserve Center (AFRC) and training of the Oregon Military Department Project Management staff. The oversight of the AFRC project included assisting the Design Build Team in obtaining USGBC LEED Silver accreditation.
Mark also developed RFP and RFQ’s for contractor led Design Build projects for several city, state and federal agencies. He has gained tremendous experience in many aspects of project delivery with a wide variety of clients during his more than 25 years in the architecture and owner representative industry.
Mark has Bachelor of Environmental Design and Bachelor of Architecture degrees from the University of Kansas. He is licensed as an Architect by the State of Missouri, is a designated Design-Build professional with the DBIA and is a LEED accredited professional.
