Mike Montoya, P.E.

Mr. Mike Montoya is a Professor of Construction Management in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA.  Mr. Montoya’s teaching and research focuses on integrated project delivery, design-build project management, commercial construction and development, and interdisciplinary collaboration. In addition, Mike has owned and operated a design-build construction firm for the last 5-years, specializing in light-commercial and residential design and construction. Prior to this Mike spent over 10-years in the construction industry working as a project estimator and senior project manager for several construction firms in California and the Pacific Northwest.  His project experience includes work on various residential developments, office buildings, hospitals, manufacturing facilities, parking structures, roads and, schools. He holds a B.S. in Civil engineering from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA, and a Masters in Construction Management from Stanford University.
