Rising Demand for Education and Certification in Design-Build “Done Right”

New York Passes Design-Build Procurement Legislation
– On December 12, 2011, Governor Cuomo of New York signed SB 2A into law, major components of law necessary to the state; relates to personal income tax rates, the metropolitan commuter transportation mobility tax, in-state manufacturer taxation; a youth works tax credit, a jobs retention program, the use of design-build on infrastructure, hurricane and storm relief, school district property tax collection, the New York City Transit Authority funds diversion, and project labor agreements under NY-SUNY 2020 Challenge Grant Program.

DESIGN-BUILD INSTITUTE OF AMERICA EXPANDS REACH OF DBIA CREDENTIAL
– Recognizing the importance of full team integration early in the process, the Design-Build Certification Board decided the existing program failed to properly recognize the team members and owners’ representatives who are key early on in the design-build process. These key participants in the design-build process can now qualify for an Associate DBIA certification.
