DBIA Extends with PAI for Conferences and Membership; Establishes Agreement with Naylor, LLC for DATELINE
Washington, D.C., February 6, 2009 – The Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), has extended its long-term relationship with PAI Sales Inc., and its principal Patrick Wilson, to continue to support DBIA's conferences with sales and marketing services for exhibits and sponsorships. In addition, DBIA has enlisted Wilson and PAI to support DBIA in expanding its membership marketing efforts. DBIA is establishing this new capacity in order to increase its industry outreach in response to increasing demand for design-build services in the design and construction industry.

In another expansion move, DBIA has also entered into an agreement with Naylor, LLC., to become the publisher of DBIA's 10-time per year publication Design-Build DATELINE journal. This new relationship will begin with the May 2009 issue of the journal. As part of this expanded service, Naylor will also produce for DBIA a fully interactive digital version of DATELINE. Naylor will handle all aspects of DATELINE starting with the May Issue, including editorial, advertising sales, production, design, layout, printing, and distribution. Meanwhile, DBIA will publish and Wilson/PAI will provide advertising sales for Design-Build DATELINE journal through completion of the March and April issues.

"In 2004 when I came on board, DBIA like many other non-profits in the post-9/11 time period, had experienced a downturn in participation and a plateau in it non-dues revenue. Also at that time, DBIA had a small monthly newsletter without significant advertising and several conferences that needed additional corporate support. DBIA turned to Patrick Wilson and PAI in order to expand in the market and to increase revenue base. Patrick's impact over the past five years has been quite extraordinary," says W. Lee Evey, President and CEO of DBIA. "The PAI team planned and conducted a long-term effort which transformed our Annual Conference profitability, while developing strong relationships with DBIA's customers to ensure that they experienced success. I frequently receive compliments that DBIA's shows are the best in the industry and needless to say I am pleased."

"Patrick and his PAI team launched exhibit and sponsorship programs to enhance DBIA's specialty conferences in several key sectors, while also launching advertising sales as DBIA transformed its newsletter into the award-winning journal, Design-Build DATELINE. Annual revenue has grown from start-up to almost $400,000 annually for DATELINE, and from no advertising to dozens of advertisers in most issues," says Evey. "I credit Patrick Wilson as a major factor in the success achieved by DBIA over the past five years, and look forward to his help in the future as we strive to grow our Conference and Membership areas and as we transition our publication."

DBIA has established a media partnership with Naylor, LLC., to position Design-Build DATELINE for the future "With Naylor, LLC, publishing both our Membership Directory and our official Design-Build DATELINE journal we are looking to Naylor's nearly 40 years of trade association experience to further brand DBIA as the center of expertise in design-build says Evey. The content and direction of these publications remain under DBIA's control but for advertisers the integration of these products offers the opportunity to coordinate the messaging for maximum exposure to a targeted, attentive audience.
