New industry resource provides nationwide overview of design-build projects in every sector, allows users to drill down to locality, design-builder and project type.
Washington, DC, February, 2010 – Today, DBIA, the design and construction industry’s resource for leadership, objective expertise and best practices in the integrated delivery of capital projects, released a Design-Build Project Database. This much anticipated online resource currently holds information on design-build projects representing every sector. The database – accessible at www.dbia.org/pubs/projectdb - is open to the public and is fully searchable by locality, design-build entity, owner and project type.
In addition to providing full public access to information in the database, DBIA is encouraging project submissions from members and non-members alike. “DBIA works to ensure success for all owners and all design and construction practitioners,” said John Young, president of American Water and current chair of DBIA’s board. “Our mission is to promote the value of design-build project delivery and to teach the effective integration of design and construction to everyone. The Design-Build Project Database will help us to improve and further integrate the design and construction delivery process.
“The Design-Build Project Database will be the first significant collection of capital projects to focus on to the value derived from design-build performed according to its best practices, highlighting areas such as cost savings, reduced schedules and enhanced owner satisfaction,” noted Executive Director Lisa Washington. “The development of the database reflects DBIA’s ongoing commitment to identifying and advocating best practices in integrated delivery.”
