DBIA respects the privacy of our members and other visitors to our web site. To protect online privacy, DBIA has implemented the following privacy policy regarding this web site (www.dbia.org).  This policy may be amended at any time by posted amendments to this web page.

What Information Does DBIA Collect? DBIA collects data to better serve our members and the design-build community. It is our policy to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide.  How Does DBIA Use Cookies?  DBIA uses cookies only to facilitate automated activity, store and track passwords, determine appropriate solicitations, and review navigation patterns.

General Users browsing the website: Users to the public areas of DBIA’s web site browse anonymously. DBIA collects aggregate data from users browsing our web site. DBIA uses this information for internal and marketing purposes.


Voluntarily Given Information from DBIA Members and Other Customers: There are a number of areas in the DBIA web site where we ask for and collect information about you, including personally identifiable information. Examples include membership information (which may include name, address, email, telephone number and educational and professional experience information), conference and education course registrations, security identifiers, shipping information, and bookstore and DATELINE purchase information.  Membership information is used in the DBIA database, which is used to generate DBIA mailing lists. This includes lists provided to Regions and Chapters of DBIA. The mailing list may be used in connection with informing the user about DBIA services, products, conferences, meetings and events.

Third Party Disclosure:  DBIA does not sell or rent e-mail addresses to anyone.  On occasion, to better serve our members and to supplement member dues, the DBIA mailing list, in part or as a whole, is released to other carefully selected third party organizations to provide the user with information on technical products and services related to the user's profession, or that we otherwise believe is useful to our members.   In this circumstance we only provide names and addresses.  The user may instruct us not to share information about the user in the DBIA mailing list with third parties by indicating this preference on the user's membership application when the user joins DBIA, on the user's renewal form when the user renews the user's membership, or by notifying us at membership@dbia.org.

Secure Transactions:
For the user's protection, credit card processing is accomplished using secure processing services. The user's entry of credit card information is encrypted when transmitted in secure mode. If for any reason the user still feels uncomfortable submitting the user's credit card over the Internet, the user can mail or phone in the user's information to us.  

NO SYSTEM IS 100% SECURE.  DBIA cannot guarantee security.  The user transmits information at the user’s own risk.

General DBIA Web Server Security:  DBIA web servers conform to industry standards regarding security.  All information collected on the website, including names and addresses, is stored behind a "firewall."


External Links: This web site contains links to other web sites, including third party organizations that provide DBIA member benefit programs and services.   DBIA is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of such sites.

Legal Compliance: DBIA cooperates with law enforcement and other third parties to enforce laws.  The User authorizes and recognizes DBIA’s right and intention to disclose any information about the user to law enforcement or other government officials as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate, in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringements, or other activity that is or may be illegal or may expose us, service or content providers we work with, or the user to possible legal liability.
