Dena Braun is the vice president in charge of marketing and sales for Alchemy Models Inc. She is responsible for introducing architects and builders to rapid prototyping technology and teaching them how this new process can enhance their visual communication and sales materials. Alchemy Models Inc., the leader in 3D printing for the AEC industry, is headquartered in Phoenix, AZ.

Janet Cohen, corporate writer for Barton Malow Company, regularly reports on topics of interest to the industry; her credits include local, regional, and national publications, including previous work for Design-Build DATELINE. A professional researcher, author, and editor for nearly 30 years, including 13 for Barton Malow, she is a member of the Construction Writers Association.

Ashley Dale is marketing manager for Barton Malow Company’s Southern Region. She has 10 years of experience in the AEC industry and is an active member of SMPS and NAWIC. She was integral in the development of the Georgia Building Industry Summit, a half-day educational forum for the AEC community focused on integrating services for clients, as in design-build delivery.

James T. Duffy, AIA, is now retired from the Navy Civil Service, but served as the former engineering director at Northern Division, Naval Facilities Engineering Command in Lester, PA. He currently resides in Somerdale, NJ.

Paul Giacoletto has dual roles at Clayco as the vice president overseeing the residential business unit and vice president of business development. During his more than 25 years in construction and architecture, he has been involved in the construction and development of approximately 3,000 multi-family units. Giacoletto returned to Clayco in late 2005 after serving as vice president in the St. Louis office of a Chicago-based development company. He previously worked for Clayco as a senior project manager before starting a Clayco subsidiary company that provided specialty construction services to the wireless telecommunications industry nationwide.

Brent A. Leif is design development manager for the University of Phoenix Stadium. He is with Hunt Construction Group, Inc. in its Phoenix, AZ, office. As design development manager, Mr. Leif supervises design staff and makes decisions regarding design implementation including aesthetic direction, budget adherence, value engineering, schedule coordination, and quality. He maintains open communication with the owner and the design team and coordinates and supervises all design subcontractors.

Alan Petrasek joined Clark Construction in 1978 as an assistant superintendent, initially working on the Mobil Oil project in Fairfax, VA. As project executive, Alan led teams on several noteworthy projects, including IBM in Raleigh, the Bank of Baltimore, Oriole Park at Camden Yards, and Ravens’ Stadium. Alan was also responsible for a number of Metro stations in Washington, DC, and Baltimore such as Johns Hopkins, Franconia, and Shot Tower. Alan relocated to the Western Region in 1998 and promoted to vice president in 1989. He was instrumental in securing the new Ballpark for the San Diego Padres and the Newport Beach Marriott Realignment project. Alan relocated temporarily to Washington, DC, to build the new Washington National’s stadium, and continues to manage Clark’s San Diego, CA, work and assists in business development and the acquisition of new work. Alan holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Rutgers University. He holds contractor licenses in both Louisiana and West Virginia.

Jeff Smith is the president of the Midwest Division of Ryan Companies US, Inc., located in Naperville, IL. As president of Ryan’s Midwest Division, Jeff provides overall leadership and direction for the Ryan development, design, construction, and property management divisions. In his 25 years with Ryan, Jeff has successfully pioneered new regional offices for Ryan and is known for his ability to provide strategic focus to broad development, management and financial/investment matters, as well as to specific projects.

Andrew Soderquist provides estimating and preconstruction services with Sahara, Inc. of West Bountiful, UT. Andrew is on the Board of Directors of the ABC Utah Chapter. He may be reached at asoderquist@sahara1.com.

Mark C. Waggoner, P.E., is a senior associate with Walter P Moore in the Austin, TX, office and served as project engineer for University of Phoenix Stadium. Mr. Waggoner is a member of the firm’s Research and Development Group, which is responsible for implementing advanced design concepts into a wide variety of project types. He has contributed to each of Walter P Moore’s four NFL retractable roof venues.
