New Hires at Clayco

St. Louis, MO — Clayco has added G. Rebecca O’Connor as a construction administrator in Mission Control, Lori Luetkenhaus as an assistant controller, and Beverly Hudson as an information management specialist.

CH2M HILL

Denver, CO — CH2M HILL reports that it has hired nearly 900 professionals to staff a growing number of water, transportation, environmental, and industrial projects worldwide. Among those added most recently are Thomas Martens as senior project manager in the firm’s water business group in Boston and John Russell Quarendon as the firm’s theatre managing director for Southeast Asia and India.

WALTER P MOORE Honored

Houston, TX — WALTER P MOORE has won a silver medal in the Water Resources Category of the 2007 Engineering Excellence Awards competition of the Texas Council of Engineering Companies for its role in Flood Mitigation for the UT Health Science Center Medical School Building.

CDM Wins Safety Award

Cambridge, MA — CDM has won the Associated General Contractors of California Safety Excellence Award in the Heavy Contractors Division.

B&V Earns Awards

San Diego, CA — Black & Veatch’s Rancho Penasquitos Pressure Control and Hydroelectric Facility won the Outstanding Project Award for 2006 from the San Diego Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Redhill, UK — The £9 million Seahouses Wastewater Treatment Works Scheme for Northumbrian Water has won Black & Veatch the Institution of Civil Engineers’ Robert Stephenson Award.

CH2M HILL Wins Five

Denver, CO — CH2M HILL received five Excellence in Environmental Engineering awards from the American Academy of Environmental Engineers. The Los Angeles Integrated Resources Plan won the Grand Prize in the Planning category; Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District Study of High-Rate Treatment of West Weather Flows received the Grand Prize in the Small Project Category; the F. Wayne Hill Water Resources Center won the Grand Prize in the Design category (working with Jordan, Jones & Goulding Inc., the facility was delivered approximately a year ahead of schedule); and the Stamford Water Pollution Control facility and the MSD-Cincinnati Wet Weather Storage and Treatment Facility won Honor Awards in the Small Project category.

San Jose, CA — Rosendin Electric was named a recipient of Intel Corporation’s Preferred Quality Supplier award for outstanding performance in providing products and services deemed essential to Intel’s success. The company was recognized for its efforts supplying Intel with electrical construction services.

CH2M HILL Expands in the Midwest

Chicago, IL — CH2M HILL has opened a second Chicago office in downtown Chicago to serve as a core operations center for the firm’s in-city water, transportation, and environmental businesses.

B&V Selected for Study

Guangzhou, China — Black & Veatch has been selected to provide specialty consultancy services on a Drainage Master Plan for the urban center of Guanzhou City in Guangdong Province, China. The study will review the performance of the existing drainage system and devise a plan for both short-term and long-term improvement measures for the city.

International Building Code News

Orlando, FL — The 2007 Supplement of the International Building Code will no longer require apartments undergoing alterations to provide adaptability features to accommodate people with disabilities. Under previous editions of the IBC, an alteration to more than 20 units in an existing building would trigger a requirement for two percent of the units to be provided with basic adaptability features.
