DBIA recently entered a partnership with New Construction Strategies (NCS) to create the DBIA Radio Network. The Internet tool will allow DBIA to provide one month of the audio newsletter to members free of charge.
While interviews will run the gamut, featuring the top minds and voices in the design-build community, the radio network already has several featured interviews up and running that provide a good introduction the quality information the new partnership will produce.
Ted Garrison, host of New Construction Strategies, along with Walker Lee Evey, DBIA president, interview Don Evans, president of CH2M Hill’s Civil Infrastructure Group, in one of the initial features, where Evans notes that the country’s infrastructure is now receiving deserved attention.
Garrison also interviews John Gambatese, an associate professor at Oregon State University. Gambatese discusses innovation and how it leads to low-cost solutions and better quality, creating a better environment for contractors.
Barbara Jackson, DBIA board member and director of the California Center of Construction Education, covers contract leadership in “New Contracting 101: Lead or Die,” and Garrison also interviews John Giachino, principal and regional director of client services for Boyle Engineering, who discusses the value of high performing contractors for building owners.
Evey also switches sides from interviewer to interviewee in “A New Way to Construction Profits,” where he discusses looking at overall value versus overall price and how design-build provides the high value construction buyers look for in a project. To hear the first five interviews, listeners can go to www.newconstructionstrategies.com/dbia/radio.html.
But these are only some of the many advantages of this new outlet for the design-build community and DBIA members. An affinity program allows DBIA members to sign up for the complete NCS package at a 40 percent discount. NCS as a whole is designed to bring together top names and influential figures in construction to discuss crucial issues facing construction as a whole and increase collaboration within the industry — a hallmark of design-build.
Stay tuned to the DBIA Web site at www.dbia.org and DATELINE for the latest on DBIA Radio, as it will surely be a new tool to bring the design-build community together.
