CH2M HILL Grows
DENVER — CH2M HILL has promoted Martin Nicholson, PE, to regional manager of the firm’s nine-state Southwestern U.S. region. Nicholson, based in the firm’s Redding, Calif., office, has been with CH2M HILL for nearly 30 years. He replaces Lori Galloway who will now serve as the director of operations for CH2M HILL’s Environmental Services Business Group.
In addition, the firm has hired Philip Yerby as Texas civil infrastructure director, in which position he will work with the transportation and water regional business groups and global leadership to identify, prioritize and lead strategic opportunities in that state, as well as recruiting additional strategic staff.
CH2M HILL has also hired Ed Winkler as a vice president and regional client services director for the firm’s Southwest Water Group.
Stewart Joins PB
CHARLESTON, S.C. — James Stewart has been named a technical director at Parsons Brinckerhoff, where he will be responsible for managing PB’s design-build efforts for government agencies and the Department of Defense. He comes to PB after 28 years with the Naval Facilities Engineering Command.
Benham Adds Gwyn
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Michael Gwyn has joined The Benham Companies, LLC, as vice president and managing director of a new Atlantic Region office. This office will offer architectural and engineering design and design-build services to public and private sector clients, primarily in the Carolinas, Georgia and mid-Atlantic states.

Rosendin Tops in Quality
SAN JOSÉ, Calif. — Rosendin Electric Inc. received Intel Corporation’s 2007 Preferred Quality Supplier award March 17 for outstanding performance in providing products and services deemed essential to Intel’s success. The company received the award for its efforts in supplying Intel with electrical construction services. Tom Sorley, DBIA chairman of the board, is president and chief executive officer of Rosendin Electric.
Davis Honored
DENVER — The Environmental Water Resources Institute (EWRI) selected Allen Davis of CH2M HILL to receive the 2008 Hydraulic Structures Medal on April 8. The award is one of the top two granted to hydraulic engineers worldwide each year. The award recognizes Davis for being an industry leader in hydraulics and the focal point of hydraulic analysis at CH2M HILL. During the selection process, the award committee particularly noted his development of computer programs for the design, operation and analysis of water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, water and wastewater treatment and hydraulic transients. Davis will receive the award at the EWRI Annual Congress on May 14.
Incheon Wins for Third Time
DENVER – Incheon International Airport in Seoul, Korea, designed by Fentress Architects, has been voted the 2007 “Best Airport World Wide” by the Airport Council International’s Airport Service Quality Award Program. As the winner of the same award in 2005 and 2006, it is the first airport in history to win three years in a row. The airport was also named 2007 “Best Airport World Wide” by the Official Airline Guide.

New Concrete Officers
ST. LOUIS — On Jan. 22, the American Society of Concrete Contractors announced their new officers: Donald M. Marks, president; Paul A. Albanelli, first vice president; Clay Fischer, Rocky Geans and Mike Poppoff, vice presidents; and Glen Shamblen, secretary/treasurer.
The Decorative Concrete Council, a specialty council, elected Jay Fangman as council director, Glen Shamblen as secretary/treasurer and Priscilla Dunn and Frank Lewis as directors.
Another specialty council, the Safety & Risk Management Council, elected Chris Plue as council director, Steve Pereira as secretary/treasurer and Scott Winkler as a new director.
Barton Malow Holds Business Diversity Forum
CHICAGO — On Feb. 26, Barton Malow Company and the University of Chicago held the Minority and Women’s Informational Forum. The event introduced minority- and women-owned businesses to Barton Malow and shared with them the bidding opportunities for the University’s Regenstein Library Research Pavilion Project. Presentations included information on how to become a qualified contractor and the university’s goals for business and workforce diversity.
