DBIA and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) have teamed up to take design-build project delivery to new heights. This course will be delivered by leading industry authorities and will address the use of design-build as a project delivery method focusing on essential concepts and characteristics. The interactive, problem-solving course allows attendees to take part in a structured team-learning environment.
With DBIA as the “center of expertise” in design-build project delivery, and the AIA Design-Build Knowledge Community being the recognized voice for the advancement of best practices related to the architect’s role in the design-build process. No other two organizations are better suited to come together to deliver the most current, relevant and highest quality education on architect-led design-build.
Locations so far confirmed include Las Vegas on Nov. 6 and Seattle on Dec. 5. Visit www.dbia.org for more information.
Students Mix It Up
The 2008 DBIA Student Mixer and Networking Event is the place where students can “suit up” and make industry connections. Students are encouraged to bring paper copies of their résumé as well as uploading their résumé at www.dbia.org/DBIA+CareerSpot on DBIA’s CareerSpot. This is where students connect with employers, industry professionals and DBIA designees.
When uploading your résumé, students should include the words “2008 Student Mixer” in the body of the résumé so that employers attending can easily search CareerSpot for your résumés before the mixer.
Cost for the conference including all education sessions, Expo access, meals and the Student Mixer is only $150. Any student can attend, simply by going to www.DBIA.org to register online or print a form out and mail/fax it to DBIA by Oct. 20, 2008.
The following schools have student chapters and will be bringing groups to the conference:
Brigham Young University
California Polytechnic State University
California State University at Long Beach
