New Developments
RICHLAND, Wash. — Clayco Inc. is developing the new home office and branch facility for Gesa Credit Union, the largest financial cooperative in Southeastern Washington. Clayco is designing the four-story, 76,000-square-foot facility with sustainable strategies to achieve certification in the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® Green Building rating system. This will be the first credit union home office and branch facility in the state to be registered for LEED certification.
UV Facility Underway
NEW YORK — The world’s largest ultraviolet disinfection facility is now under construction. A joint venture of Malcolm Pirnie/CH2M HILL is serving as the construction management team for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection’s Catskill-Delaware Ultraviolet Disinfection Facility. Other teaming partners include URS and the project designer is a joint venture of Hazen and Sawyer/CDM. It is scheduled for completion in September 2014.
New Interchange Opens Early
MILWAUKEE — On Oct. 2, Milwaukee Transportation Partners, a joint venture between HNTB Corporation and CH2M HILL, announced that the Marquette Interchange had been completed three months ahead of schedule and $15 million under budget. The Interchange links I-94, I-43 and I-794, and is a vital element in the area’s transportation.
This was a reconstruction project that replaced and modernized an existing four-level interchange with a five-level one. It encompasses 12 miles of urban freeways, 50 ramps and more than 180 structures.
