 Welcome Future Industry Leaders!

Programming Specifically for Young Professionals and Students 35 and Under

Since the launch of DBIA’s Young Professionals (YP) program in 2015, we now have over 650 YP members and almost 200 attending our Annual conferences! We welcome the next generation of design-build leaders with these programs designed specifically for you.

  • YP Lounge in the Exhibit Hall: We’ve created a special space just for our young professionals to network and recharge. We’ll also host a Happy Hour on Thursday night strictly for those with Young Professional badges.

  • Giveaways in the YP Lounge: The first 50 YPs to visit the Lounge during Thursday afternoon's lunch will receive a copy of Design-Build Essentials written by Dr. Barbara Jackson, Ph.D., DBIA. This practical, multi-disciplinary guide brings you all of the fundamentals that constructors, architects, and engineers must understand in order to mitigate risks, optimize results, and be successful in the design-build arena.

  • Leadership Development Session: On Thursday afternoon speaker DeWayne Ables of Pioneer iQ will present Leadership Development for Young Professionals and those who Manage Them. This highly interactive, hands-on session will explore two varying perspectives in the workplace: that of the young professional -- and that of those who manage them.   While the generational gap in the workplace can be an easy excuse for miscommunication, it doesn’t have to be.  It all comes down to managing expectations from both sides.
  • Mentorship Program: A structured process that allows seasoned DBIA members a way to give back to the industry by sharing their professional insight and practical career advice. Sign up when you register or email meetings@dbia.org to add it to your existing registration.
