Founded in honor of America’s first scientist, Benjamin Franklin, The Franklin Institute is one of the oldest and premier centers of science education and development in the country. Today, the Institute continues its dedication to public education and creating a passion for science by offering new and exciting access to science and technology in ways that would dazzle and delight its namesake.

A ticket to the Opening Party Includes:  
  • Transportation to/from The Franklin Institute. Buses will depart from the Convention Center and the Marriott Philadelphia Downtown. 
  • Heavy hor d’oeuvres and beverages will be available for guests to enjoy. 
  • Access to the Benjamin Franklin National Memorial including a multimedia show that demonstrates Benjamin Franklin's profound impact on the world.

  • Your Brain, The Franklin Institute's newest—and biggest—exhibition: An exhibit that invites you to think about how you think. It's all about real life and what's happening inside your head everyday as your brain makes sense of the world around you. 
  • The Giant Heart: Learn how to keep your heart in tip-top shape as you explore this 5,000 square foot exhibition. Watch open heart surgery or find out how much blood is in your body. Crawl through a giant artery or see a how a human skeleton works as it runs. This exhibit is a celebration of the heart—inside the human body and inside The Franklin Institute!
  • Electricty: Just as Franklin engaged in hands-on experimentation with electricity, you will too! Learn how electricity is created and explore the fuel sources needed to generate our electricity. You’ll feel the force of electricity by manipulating electrical phenomena, exploring authentic artifacts (including Franklin’s Lightning Rod), and tackling questions of sustainable energy.
  • Changing Earth: Explore how our response to Earth's changes will impact our future on Earth and discover how your choices impact our future Earth. Calculate your carbon footprint, find solutions to reduce carbon emissions, and go "on camera" and deliver your own weather forecast. Each experience in Changing Earth provides insights into repercussions that may result from our responses to changes—natural or manmade.
