DBIA works in all 50 states and our nation’s capital to ensure our legislative leaders understand the value design-build delivers to projects of all sizes, in all sectors from coast to coast. Our goal? To have full design-build authority in every state and greater use of Design-Build Done Right® by Federal Agencies.

Federal agencies have used design-build since passage of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) in 1996. We continue to work with Congress and the White House to ensure Design-Build Done Right® best practices are supported by federal regulations to delivery the highest-quality projects possible.
National EffortsWhen DBIA was founded in 1993, only three states allowed the use of design-build for public projects. Today, there are only three states with little to no design-build authority. Design-build is the fastest growing delivery process in the nation, but we still have work to do.
