Renewal Fee: DBIA Members $50; Non-Members $150
Please use the Renewal Form to renew your certification.
Guidelines
You must renew your certification every two years. On December 31 of your two-year anniversary year, you must have accrued 24 hours of approved continuing education credit. These hours can come from any of the sources you used to earn your original certification except the four core courses. You may also earn credit hours by serving in a DBIA leadership role.
It is your responsibility to maintain your continuing education hours. These hours must relate to design-build project delivery and must be a Certification Board approved activity, as outlined below or detailed in our credit matrix.
Suggested Methods for Obtaining Credit
DBIA continuing education, including courses (except the core courses) and conferences offered by both DBIA National or the Regions, if approved by the Certification Board.
Continuing education courses and conferences from other organizations, if approved by the Certification Board (you may use a maximum of 12 credit hours for continuing education from other organizations).
You may earn credit hours by serving in a DBIA leadership capacity at the National (DBIA National Board or Certification Board, for a maximum of 12 hours); on a Region or Chapter Board (for a maximum of 8 hours); as a National, Regional or Chapter committee chair (for a maximum of four hours); or as the primary author of a DBIA-published document (for a maximum of 6 hours).
As when you first earned your certification, you may accrue credit hours by serving as an instructor, speaker or discussion leader for an event with the same requirements as initially (for a maximum of 12 credit hours).
