The Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) is dedicated to leading the expansion of the design-build method of project delivery across all segments of the industry.
For more than a decade DBIA has led the expansion of design-build project delivery across all industries and markets. Organized in 1993, DBIA has changed and transformed as the role of design-build professionals and the industry as a whole have evolved. But our central mission has remained unaltered: to re-integrate the roles of designers and constructors to achieve superior results.
DBIA is shaping the future of the design and construction industry by developing comprehensive and fair design-build contract documents, delivering design-build project management information through educational programs, influencing procurement and licensing legislation and teaching owners about the design-build process and its benefits.
DBIA members perform design and construction work in all non-residential markets including buildings, industrial process facilities and civil infrastructure projects. Our members are dedicated to the improvement of professional standards for the industry and include design-builders, general contractors, design professionals, specialty contractors, representatives of government agencies, private sector owners, academics, and other professionals.
DBIA offers membership to firms and individuals who are interested in design-build and integrated services. Firms that qualify for industry partner membership include design-build practitioners (contractors, design firms, specialty contractors), suppliers, government agencies and professional service firms. Owners, industry practitioners, government agency representatives, educators, and students qualify for individual membership.
